Abstract

This case study is motivated by the fact that the incidence of breast cancer in Indonesia has increased every year and nutrition-related problems are one of the biggest problems faced by breast cancer sufferers. The purpose of this case study is to provide nursing care to Mrs. E with impaired fulfillment of nutritional needs due to carcinoma mammae at Al-Ihsan Hospital, West Java Province. The method used in this case study is a nursing care process approach. The results of the case study show that by providing nursing care for 4 days and carrying out several actions related to increasing nutritional intake such as helping patients eat, performing oral hygiene before each meal, monitoring nutritional status and other actions, there is a fairly good increase in nutritional status in Mrs. . E. As for recommendations, the authors hope that the parties involved within the scope of the hospital, especially nurses, will pay more attention to the condition of breast cancer patients in terms of their biological needs regarding nutrition. Due to nutritional problems, if not properly attended to, it will exacerbate cancer healing and cause the disease to become prone to complications. For patients, the authors hope to be able to maintain their nutritional intake and look for various efforts so that the body's nutritional intake is sufficient because it is we who know whether a person's nutritional intake is sufficient or not.
