Abstract
Pneumonia is the second leading cause of child death in Indonesia. The sign that is often experienced and complained of by patients with pneumonia is shortness of breath, this occurs due to accumulation of secretions in the bronchi. This case study aims to find out the description of virgin care in preschool children with pneumonia. The case study method used is a descriptive case study method. In this case study, there was one patient who was given comprehensive nursing care. The results of the study showed RR 47x/minute, temperature 38.20C, pulse 140x/minute, dyspnea, wheezing, coughing up phlegm, weight loss of 1.2 kg, stomatitis, fear of nurses, no eye contact and anxiety. From these data, 4 nursing problem were obtained, namely airway clearance, hyperthermia, risk of nutritional deficits and anxiety. Nursing care carried out for 4x24 hours and 1 home visit with the results of 3 resolved diagnoses, namely hyperthermia, risk of nutritional deficits and anxiety and an unresolved diagnosis is airway clearance. The patient went home in a condition that has not fully recovered. Based on the results of this case study, blowing a toy propeller intervention and chest physiotherapy are highly recommended to be given to preschool children as an alternative to natural airway clearance but carried out with due regard to the patient's condition and growth and development.
