Abstract
Situational low self-esteem is a negative assessment of oneself, including loss of confidence, worthlessness, uselessness, pessimism, hopelessness and hopelessness. Based on data (Riskesdas) the prevalence of obesity in Indonesia in the population aged >15 years continues to increase in 2007 - 2018 from 18.8% - 31.0%. Likewise, data in West Java from 12.6% - 23.0%. Therapeutic communication techniques are appropriate nursing actions because adolescence is a labile period where at that time trying to find identity. So that therapeutic communication techniques are considered very effective in overcoming the problem of low self-esteem in adolescents who are obese. The purpose of this case study is to provide situational low self-esteem nursing care to obese adolescents in the Garuda Health Center work area. The case study design used is descriptive through a nursing care process approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the case study show that the client has accepted his condition and knows the positive aspects he has after 6 days of implementation in accordance with the criteria of the results that have been planned in the planning. It is hoped that this case study can be applied in providing nursing care to clients with low self-esteem with the application of planning that nurses can provide.
