Abstract

The research entitled "The Relationship between Mobile Addiction and Anxiety Levels in Adolescents at Sman 1 Parongpong" is motivated by the development of technology that is now able to make everything easier. As in the use of mobile phones can help in finding information, facilitate communication, increase knowledge and so on. With this convenience, it is able to make individuals become dependent on mobile phones, especially teenagers. Teenagers have a higher prevalence of cell phone dependence than adults. This is because adolescence is a time when you want to try new things in life. Mobile phone addiction can cause mental health problems, one of which is anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between cell phone dependence and anxiety in adolescents at SMAN 1 Parongpong. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive correlational method in the form of cross sectional. Using probability sampling technique with cluster sampling. The number of samples in this study were 274 respondents. The results of the study used Spearman's rank correlation test analysis, there was a relationship between cellphone dependence and anxiety (ρ value = 0.032). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between cellphone dependence and anxiety in adolescents at SMAN 1 Parongpong. The need to provide guidance and counseling in schools to students as a strategy to reduce cell phone dependence.
