Abstract
This case study is motivated by the incidence of diabetes mellitus cases in West Java. Diabetics in West Java in 2022 were around 570,611 people (1.74%). This case study aims to describe nursing care for elderly people with type II diabetes mellitus at Wisma Lansia J.Soenarti Bandung City in 2024. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. Problems experienced by clients include instability of blood glucose levels, self-care deficits, knowledge deficits and risk of falling. Interventions in accordance with SIKI are diabetic foot exercises and balance exercises. Implementation was carried out for 5 days showing a fasting blood sugar of 280 mg/dl on April 26, 2024, had bathed, brushed teeth, shampooed and changed clothes, questions about the problems faced decreased and falls when standing, walking and from bed never occurred. Evaluation is carried out for 6 days, 1 problem is not resolved and 3 problems are resolved. It is expected that clients adhere to diet, exercise and take metformin drugs every day.
