Abstract

Indonesia's incidence rate, data from the 2018 Riskesdas results, prevalence of hypertension in the population according to the age of more than 18 years, which reached 34.11%. If the poor control of hypertension in the family can lead to problems, namely ineffective family health management. Families must be able to modify lifestyles with families who suffer from hypertension and prevent hypertension from other family members. This case study aims to describe the nursing care of Mr U's family with ineffective family health management for Mrs S due to hypertension in RW 03, Dungus Cariang Village, working area of the Garuda City Health Center, Bandung. The case study method used is a descriptive case study method. The results of the case study found the problem of ineffective family health management related to the inability of families to care for family members who are sick with hypertension. Nursing actions carried out using the PATUH method (check health regularly and follow doctor's recommendations, treat diseases with proper and regular medication, stick to a balanced diet, strive for safe physical activity, avoid smoking alcohol and other carcinogens) for families with hypertension and CERDIK as prevention for families, including education on hypertension disease processes, support for decision-making, support for families planning care, education for hypertension treatment programs, education on stress management, education on health behavior. Based on the results of the evaluation of nursing problems can be resolved because the client is able to control hypertension with the PATUH method and is able to follow the procedures according to the procedure. It is hoped that families can care for hypertension family members by providing a low-salt diet, taking medication 1x/day, doing hypertension exercises 3x/week, carrying out health checks at the nearest facility.
