Abstract

The number of maternal deaths recorded in the family health program at the Ministry of Health increases every year. One of the efforts that can be made to reduce maternal mortality is by sectio caesarea. The rate of sectio caesarea delivery at Al-Ihsan Hospital, West Java Province is quite high. One of the complications in post sectio caesarea is surgical wound infection. Nurses play an important role in overcoming the risk of infection by providing comprehensive nursing care to post sectio caesarea patients. The purpose of this case study is to determine the description of nursing care with infection risk problems in post sectio caesarea mothers at Al-Ihsan Hospital, West Java Province. The research method used is a descriptive case study. The results of this case study obtained a diagnosis of infection risk and several interventions have been carried out, including wound care. On the fifth day, wound observation was carried out and the results showed that there were no signs of infection. It can be concluded that comprehensive nursing care can prevent infection.
