Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is the most common type of Diabetes Mellitus, more than 90% of Diabetes Mellitus are type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Increased blood glucose in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus affects the flexibility of red blood cells which release O2, causing ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion. Family support greatly influences the management of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in reducing ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion. The purpose of this case study is to describe Mr. M Family Nursing Care with Ineffective Peripheral Tissue Perfusion in Mrs. A due to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in RW 03 Dungus Cariang Village, The Work Area of Garuda Health Center Bandung City. This case study method uses a descriptive method. The results of the case study showed that after the intervention of foot exercise 5x/week, foot and nail care 1x/day ±3 minutes, and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus health education, the problem of peripheral tissue perfusion was not partially resolved with the criteria value Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) increased from 0.85 to 1, GDP value decreased from 162 mg/dL to 155 mg/dL, leg pain/soreness when walking or standing for a long time decreased, family knowledge about type 2 Diabetes Mellitus increased from not know to know, and the lower extremity acral still feels cold. It is expected that the family will continue to do foot exercises 5x/week and foot and nail care 1x/day ± 3 minutes so that clients can control blood circulation in their feet and Community Health Program nurses can help supervise clients and assist clients in measuring ABI values to determine the degree of perfusion to peripheral tissues.
