Abstract

This case study is motivated by the existence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DMT2) which is a chronic disorder of the body's metabolism due to the hormone insulin in the body which cannot be used effectively in regulating blood sugar balance so that it increases the concentration of sugar levels in the blood or is called hyperglycemia (Febrinasari , 2020). The DM incidence rate in West Java in 2021 reaches 1.74%. The incidence of DM in the Bandung City Region in 2019 was 45,430 and in 2020 there were 43,906 (West Java Health Office, 2022). The incidence of DM in the Garuda Health Center area reached 152 cases in March 2023. This case study aims to carry out Nursing Care for the Family of Father R With a Nutritional Deficit in Mother. N Due to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in RW 03 Dungus Cariang Subdistrict, Working Area of the Garuda Health Center, Bandung City, which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The method used in preparing this case study is a case study design with a descriptive method. The results of this case study found that after carrying out family nursing care for 5 days to overcome the problem of nutritional deficits, it was found that an increase in body weight from 47 kg to 47.50 kg could be fulfilled by means of a diabetes mellitus diet. Conclusion: a diabetic diet can help increase body weight and with a correct diabetic diet can control blood sugar levels. Recommended through the Garuda Health Center, this case study can be used as additional information in developing community health programs for families with diabetes mellitus such as health services according to the Indonesian Nursing Diagnostic Standards (SDKI), Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI) and Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI). ). It is hoped that after the end of treatment at home, the client and family carry out various efforts to overcome diabetes mellitus with the actions that have been taught so that the client can control his blood sugar level.
