Abstract

The background of this study case is the high incidence of gastritis. Based on data from the World Health Organization/WHO (2019), the incidence of gastritis in the world reaches 1.8 million to 2.1 million people annually with the percentage of incidence in Indonesia is 40.8% and reaches prevalence of 274,396 cases out of 238,452,952 inhabitants. Based on data KEMENKES RI in 2019, cases of gastritis are included in one of the 10 most common diseases with a total of 30,154 cases (4.9%). The purpose of this study case is to apply nursing care to gastritis patient. Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa, the characteristics including acute, chronic, diffuse, or localized with characteristics of anorexia, fullness, epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting. Gastritis can have various impacts, one of them is the risk of nutritional deficits. This study case uses descriptive design with a sample of one patient, carried out at the Provincial Al-Ihsan Regional Hospital in West Java. Nursing care for Mr. H carried out for five days, on the study found that Mr. H experienced nausea and vomiting so he could not fulfil his nutritional intake which is raised as a problem of interference fulfillment of nutrition with nursing diagnoses risk of nutritional deficits. The others diagnoses that appear are hypovolemia, acute pain, and disturbed sleep patterns. The risk of nutritional deficits, the intervention is oral feeding with small but often gradually starting on soft foods. After being treated for 5 days, all nursing diagnoses were resolved. The conclusion that can be drawn is a theoretical review of gastritis nursing care not always the same as the case. For example, a new diagnosis appears, such as disturbed sleep paterns. Patient independence is needed to overcome health problems what he experienced.
