Abstract

ABSTRACT Body image disturbance are a feeling of dissatisfaction with the structure, shape, and function of the body as undesirable. This can happen to a person who has a stroke. According to research based on Riset Data Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) in 2013, the prevalence of strokes in Indonesia at age > 15 years by 7% per 1000 people and the 2018 increase to 10,9% per 1000. West Java stroke prevalence in 2018 by 12% per 1000 people. Typical signs and symptoms of a stroke include a weakness or paralysis of the arm or leg on one side of the body. Paralysis or weakness experienced by a stroke will affect a person's psychological condition because of limitations that will affect the image of the body. The purpose of this case study is to provide an overview of the case studies of nursing care for the body image disturbance to the stroke patient in the flamboyant room RSUD Kota Bandung. The design of the case studies used is a descriptive case study through the nursing process. The results of this case study are recommended for nursing to boost nursing services related to psychological conditions through counseling approaches to stroke patients with body image disturbance.
