Abstract

ABSTRACT This case study is motivated by the increasing of social isolation cases in Indonesia in 2018, namely a total of 282,654 people experiencing mental disorders when compared to 2013 only 1,728 people experiencing mental disorders. According to data at the Jiwa hospital West Java Province in 2022, the first place was occupied by social isolation patient with 1054 patient. Patient with symptoms of social isolation experience interference in interacting and cause behaviour that does not want to communicate with others, always stay silent, and avoid others. The purpose of this case study is to describe nursing care for patient with social isolation at the Jiwa Hospital West java Province. This paper uses a descriptive design with a case study approach through the nursing process in patients experiencing social isolation. The actions taken are to improve social relationships and teach to interact with others. The results of the case study showed that the patient was able that nurses can provide actions to overcome the problem social isolation on accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure that apply during the hospital.
