Abstract

Abstract Premarital counseling can be used as guidance for early adults before entering the world of marriage. Guidance for early adulthood such as reproductive health checks, introduction to the scope of marriage and preparation for weddings is found in premarital counseling (Alkaf, 2009). Premarital counseling can be influenced by the selection of a life partner where family background will greatly affect the individual, whether they want to become a life partner or will choose a partner. The goal is to avoid the possibility of divorce and help couples adjust to marriage. This study uses quantitative methods as the approach given to the respondents. The results showed that there was a significant difference between knowledge before and after being given counseling in the intervention group with p-value = 0.000 and alpha value = 0.05, it can be concluded that there was a significant effect on the knowledge of early adult students in the intervention group after being given counseling. There is a significant difference between attitudes before and after being given counseling in the intervention group with p-value = 0.040 and alpha value = 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the attitudes of early adult students after being given counseling.
