Abstract

Menopause is the cessation of menstrual periods for at least 12 consecutive months and is not due to physiological (e.g., lactation) or disease. Many women experience menopausal syndrome almost all over the world. The symptoms felt by women after experiencing menopause cause psychological disorders such as anxiety. Feeling happy can reduce anxiety. One of the things that can trigger feelings of happiness is exercise. In this study, to reduce anxiety levels in postmenopausal women, PORPI was chosen. Inhaling Sports Association of Indonesia (PORPI) is an inhaling Sport. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test without a control group. The sampling method uses a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 31 people. The study was conducted for three months. The data analysis consisted of univariate analysis using central tendency and bivariate analysis. The data is normally distributed so that the analysis uses the T. Dependent test. The results showed the level of anxiety decreases in menopausal women with an average difference of 20.83 with a standard deviation of 0.35. This study concludes that PORPI exercise can reduce anxiety levels in postmenopausal women. Key words: PORPI Exercise, Menopause
